Seed crew
Thanks for your interest in our youth internship program!
The application period for Summer 2026 Youth Internships is open. The deadline to apply is April 17, 2026.
About the Internship
Seed Crew is the first opportunity for youth to get involved with the FunkyTown Food Project. We will select 18-24 high school students across racial, socio-economic, gender, and geographic lines to unite as a cohesive team. During this six-week program (June 14th - July 24th), Seed Crew will work with staff to grow and distribute thousands of pounds of produce while developing leadership, teamwork, workplace, and civic participation skills.
Mornings are spent in the fields and greenhouses, digging in and getting dirty as we learn the basics about farming, teamwork, goal-setting, and agricultural techniques. After lunch, we spend afternoons in workshops learning about responsibility, community, service, initiative, commitment, food access, and more.
