Individuals and Small Groups

FunkyTown’s farm is designed for human, not machine, labor. We rely on volunteers to help tend the fields and grow the food that is donated and distributed locally, so thank you!

Volunteer opportunities generally take place on Saturdays from 9am-12pm during the spring and fall. All individual volunteer sign-ups are managed by our host farm, Conundrum Farms.

FunkyTown Food Project Volunteer Days

On specific Saturdays, our Dirt and Root Crews (2nd and 3rd year interns) lead the volunteer projects while our staff takes on a supporting role. This provides a meaningful and impactful opportunity for our interns to put their leadership skills to the test in a real-world environment. The Dirt and Root Crew leaders meet with Farmer Montana early in the morning to take instruction on the day’s tasks and prepare for your arrival at the farm. If you want to specifically work with our interns and staf, looks for the events titled “Volunteer with FunkyTown Food Project” on Conundrum Farms’ event calendar.

Conundrum Farms Volunteer Days

If none of FunkyTown Food Project’s volunteer days work with your schedule, we encourage you to choose another day and give your time and talent anyway. Your work at Conundrum Farms is still vital and beneficial to our overall mission. Either Farmer Montana, one of his farm hands, or Cort will lead volunteers on these days.
